At almost 30 seconds into the second movement, the winds begin to play what I think is a modified form of this sixteenth note theme from the first movement. The winds have two sixteenths tied to an eighth with rests in between. The intervals are very similar to the initial passage though.

In the 2nd part of the last movement (Maestoso) starting at 1:50, Saint-Saens takes the theme and uses it contrapuntally in a fugal style, starting with the lower strings, then adding the higher strings, and finally the trumpet.

The beginning of the 3rd mvt is very similar to the 16th note passages in the first mvt. It uses repeated tones as pickups for most of the time.

He uses the theme in all the pieces at some point in different ways each time. like a fugue in the last movement mid way thru, in half time in the second movement (everything twice as long and well masked)

The section beginning at 5:30 of the first movement is really cool.
